Ni Sa Bula! - Welcome to Fiji!

Bettie

Highlights of Bettie's Fiji Trip

Bettie recently enjoyed a familiarization trip to the Fijian Islands as a guest of Qanta's Vacations.  She traveled to Fiji with 11 other travel consultants from the mid-west region and our sales representative, from Qantas Vacations.

Fiji, located in the South Pacific, is a 10.5 hour flight from Los Angeles.  Fiji consists of approximately 330 islands with only about 108 of them are inhabited.  It is an English- speaking country although some of the islands and regions use their own Fijian language as well as English.

Fiji Trip Ultimate Poolside
Fiji is truly a relaxing tropical getaway.  At this time, it is an un-crowded destination, with something for everyone on the trip to enjoy.  From the romantic resorts for honeymooners, (young and old), to the adventurers for scuba diving, fishing, great snorkeling and kayaking down the rapids.

Fiji Trip Resort SceneBettie traveled for 11 days and 8 nights, losing a day crossing the International dateline enroute to Fiji.  While in Fiji, she visited 14 different resorts, ranging from luxury to tourist class properties. It was an adventure of planes, buses and boats of all sizes to reach these properties.  Some resorts can only be reached by boat or float plane. (But was well worth the trip.) Bettie recommends a Fiji trip for those who like to get away from it all.

Fiji Trip Blue LagoonBettie's favorite part of the trip was the Blue Lagoon Cruise on the Mystique Princess for 3 nights/4 days. The ship is so small everyone on board, guests and staff alike, get to know each other by first names.  On the ship there were 11 countries represented and Bettie had the opportunity to visit and get to know each of them.

Fiji Trip Villagers

Fiji Trip Village Scene

The cruise took the group through the Yasawa Islands, which is a chain of islands with sheltered bays and beaches.  One afternoon Bettie had the privilege of visiting one of the remote island villages where the villagers entertained with the "meke", the traditional Fijian song and dance.  The local specialty is "kava", a drink which according to Bettie, looked like muddy water, but is supposed to be a favorite local drink made out of a root...and Bettie's not sure what else, nor did she feel she really need to know.

Fiji is the freedom of un-crowded places for the romantics, adventurers and nature lovers.  To create your own perfect Fiji vacation or stopover back from Australia, contact Bettie.
