Are you looking for a new way to Christmas shop? Let me help you out! An AMA Waterways Christmas Markets Cruise will definitely do the trick! The cruise I did was on the AMA Sonata and we departed from Nuremburg and ended in Vienna with lots of Christmas Markets inbetween!
This was my first river cruise after MANY ocean cruises and I wasn't quite sure what to expect. This cruise definitely did not disappoint. Each port had an excursion for us to do so I was able to get the lay of the land in each stop. I also got to see what happens when the water levels of the river are too low....although the cruise started in Nuremberg, the ship was actually anchored in Regansburg, so we bussed back and forth for our first scheduled tour. We also ended up moving to another port early so we didn't even get to visit Regensburg as we were sent to Vilshofen. So, always be ready for an adventure when you travel because things may come up that will through things a little off course!
If you are an ocean cruise, you need to give river cruising a try. This is an amazing way to see the country side and also the excursions will give you a great overview of the cities and towns that you'll visit.
